Well if 2014 is half as interesting as 2013, it will be a good year but I plan to make it twice as interesting.
I started it off by booking myself into a 7 day meditation retreat in Spain in April. This is so not like me - the person who is normally so commitment phobic. It looked interesting, it's small - only 16 participants, it's a beautiful location, it's not too expensive and why not. It's located between Barcelona and Andorra so if I ever get myself down to Port Vendres I won't have to drive too far.
I am planning to walk the Chemin de Stevenson at the end of May. I am meeting my very first roommate in Paris for a visit in June and I really want to go to the International Festival of Photojournalism in Perpignan in September. Just a few of the things on my wish list for 2014.
I finished off 2013 with a great road trip up to Mont Saint Michel. December is a great time to visit as there are no crowds. It is so photogenic, I would have loved to spend a month there and catch it in different light, weather conditions and tides. I followed the coast south passing through Saint Malo, Le Conquet, Brest, and Quiberon. I spent a couple of days with friends in La Rochelle, a lovely city. The marina there has over 4,000 boats - most of them sailboats. I then headed in land and spent Christmas in Tremolat with my friend Pauline, who I travelled with last spring and did the house sit with in the Pyranees. It was lovely to spend time with her and catch up on our adventures. We went to Eymet, where I lived last winter and dropped by to see my friend who taught me to make the Bouryicou baskets. It felt like I completed the circle of 2013. I headed off on the 26th back to Montmin and here we are getting ready to host a New Year's Eve dinner for 12. I'm really happy to be spending this time with such good friends.
There's so much more to tell but I want post this as 2013 so I'm sending it now. I'll fill in the details later or maybe not.
In any case, my wish to everyone is lots of happiness and good health in 2014. I am so blessed to have you all in my life. You make me richer than I could have possibly imagined. Namaste.
